Suzette Barlin - Principal / Lecturer (Burleigh Heads Campus)

Suzette has been in the Beauty Industry since 1969. Prior to that Suzette studied Medical Technology and Nutritional Science. After qualifying as a Beauty Therapist in 1973, she set up a training centre in 1977, in conjunction with her existing health, hair and beauty centre in Canberra. By 1984 it was the largest clinic of its kind in Australia.

In 1986 Suzette moved to Queensland, opened a salon in Burleigh Heads and established "Elleebana", producing an Australian skin care range. In 1991 she became the Chairperson of the Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia (APAA) for Queensland and in 1992 was elected National President.

Suzette still plays an active role in the APAA as a member of the National Executive, and received a special award for services to the Beauty Industry in 1999. As a member of the Quality Management Committee, Suzette oversees the quality control of the Advanced Diploma of Health Science (Aesthetics) and the Bachelor of Health Science degree in Aesthetics Therapy.
